Almost nobody knows what the term “public health” means. But, we’d be hard pressed to live without the clean water, food safety regulations, and preventive health care that are the hallmarks of public health initiatives in the US.

Since earning a Masters degree in Public Health, my work in this field has focused on three areas: preventing violence and illness, successful aging, and enhancing public understanding of America’s complex health care system.

In 2008 I had an opportunity to work as a strategic PR consultant and writer on a campaign addressing perhaps the most urgent public health crisis of all: genocide.

Given the importance of public health, it’s a privilege to work in this field.
